Lodge Education Planning

It seems I am always writing about the content I want to produce, but today is slightly different. I've spent quite a bit of time last week revising my masonic Lodge Education Manual. Originally, when I published the previous, third edition of my manual I intended it to be the final edition. Times and minds change.

I am happy to announce that I am finishing a major revision to the Lodge Education Manual and not only will this revision become the third edition, but I intend to publish the manual as a book. I am working with a brother Past Master from Valley-Hi Lodge who is managing the publication several masonic books and we are discussing the future of my education manual.

If I am able to maintain my current production pace, I will start peer review on Monday, July 5th and, if all goes well, incorporate feedback and edits during the week of July 26th. This will have me on track to have it ready by August 1st for "pre-publication". During pre-pub I will need to work with an editor and publisher to fine tune it and get it off for printing.

While my fingers are crossed for my fourth edition, and while it undergoes final review and edits, you can still download the previous edition from my website (in the "Library") and my FaceBook education Group "BroBill's Masonic Education Group" where I stored it in the group "Files".

While I believe you will find the previous edition useful, I can tell you that the fourth edition will incorporate significant changes and updates. If you are looking for information now on developing education plans for a lodge, the core of the previous edition remains unchanged and it is the core that provides the essential structure for an education plan.

The basis of the manual is the result of an extensive Needs Analysis I did in 2017 and that identified the critical milestones in a generic masonic journey. I then labeled the notional time between these milestones as "Formal Educational Blocks" and matched specific training needs and objectives to each. None of this foundational material changes in the third edition.

So progress goes on behind the scenes. If you need the education manual, you are free and encouraged to go ahead and download the previous edition now. But "new and improved" is on its way in the form of the fourth edition which will provide even more value and more insights into the conduct of masonic education.

Thank you all and I promise, more content is on the way....
